Description
The Beatles original 10th December 1966 Parlophone release of 'A Collection Of Beatles Oldies' mono lp, catalogue number PMC 7016.
This is the 1st pressing as denoted by matrix YEX 619-1G (stampers A 11 G at 3 o'clock) on the side 1 run out groove and matrix YEX 620-1G (5 at 9 o'clock and GGG at 9 o'clock) on the side 2 run out groove.
'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' text around the rim, 'Sold in U.K.' text on the centre label and no 'KT' tax code are other 1st pressing attributes.
The record has a lovely sheen which defies it's age, has clearly only been very lightly played and is a strong excellent + grade under the Record Collector grading system.
The record comes in it's plain 'Patents Applied For' inner sleeve and as that has a small tear at the bottom I've also included an EMI inner with releases of around the time including from The Beatles and Pink Floyd amongst those advertised.
The outer earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents pending' tri-flipback sleeve has a nice crisp feel, a clear spine and I would just mention a mark bottom left on the back of the sleeve. I would grade it as excellent - under the Record Collector grading system.
