Description
An original UK Y&B Stereo pressing with the -1 -1 matrices. This is the second issue that followed the chubby font, also pressed in 1964. A wonderful, wonderful stereo mix! Although more divisive than the Mono/Stereo debate with Beatles For Sale, people generally accept that both mono and stereo mixes of this album are great! There are a lot more mono pressings out there than stereo as it was the predominant format in 1964 so that can make this LP quite rare and hard to find.
Gradings
Vinyl - VG - Unfortunately not in better condition, hence the price. Visually there are quite a few scuffs, scratches and sleeve removal marks and a fair amount of wear to the spindle hole but given that, it plays much better than it looks and it still sounds amazing! No skips or jumps at all and the tube cutting is so loud and exciting that most of the surface noise is drowned out by the sound of the music. You can still hear it, especially between tracks and in quieter moments, but the record is still a wonderful listen! After their next album, they never cut anything quite like it again and these yellow/black pressings truly show how good the tapes sounded! Rich, warm and energetic without losing much of the dynamics.
Cover - G - This is not the original cover. It is also from 1964 but it is a Mono cover. It's holding together okay, but with some significant wear and yellowing to the back panel. This seems to happen with most original AHDN covers but it's a more extreme case here. The laminate still looks nice but there's quite a few impressions from where it's been written on top of. There's a decent amount of wear to the openings, corner bumps and certain spots all over the cover. It's got some pretty serious demerits but it's still okay overall.
