Description
Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - A Hard Day’s Night' 1964 stereo vinyl LP!
This particular pressing is the very first STEREO pressing of A Hard Day's Night, released in 1964. It is much more rarer than the more common mono pressing as many people didn't have stereo equipment during this time and records would have to be specially ordered via record stores
DO NOT MISS OUT!!
Artist: The Beatles
Title: A Hard Days Night
Catalogue Number: PCS 3058
Year: 1964
Number of Tracks: 13
Matrix Numbers: -1 -1
Mother Stampers: 3RT 2GG
Condition:
Vinyl (visual):
Side 1 - the visual condition of the record isn't great. There are a lot of marks and light scratches - some of which are lightly feelable. Rated as GOOD+, may play better. Label is VERY GOOD.
Side 2 - this side has a very interesting stain or spillage on the right side of the record - doesn't look pretty! It may clean out but I'm doubtful. Elsewhere, there are the usual marks and light scratches. I can only grade it as FAIR/GOOD-. Hopefully it'll play through better than it looks. Label is VERY GOOD-.
Audio: I have play-tested the record in it's entirety. I can happily say that there are NO SKIPS, NO JUMPS AND NO STICKS on my system! There is obvious heavy crackle on the run-in and this continues throughout. The stereo audio is VERY punchy, crisp and loud and I can hear every instrument, but, that crackle remains throughout and is noticeable on the quieter tracks. The troublesome stain and marks on Side 2 cause a repetitive harsh crackle on the first few tracks but it plays through without skips. I can only grade it as GOOD-/GOOD due to the crackle but it does play all the way through. Could be cleaned out but again, I'm doubtful. I thoroughly enjoyed the listening experience but I am a huge Beatles fan so of course I would!
Inner Sleeve: The original EMITEX inner sleeve has a large split to one side and a very small split to the other, with some writing near the top corner. Not a great example and should probably be replaced.
Sleeve: The original 1964 stereo flipback sleeve is currently rated as VERY GOOD. The front of the sleeve has a lovely gloss and shine but it does have some light laminate creasing and edgewear. The rear of the sleeve has some light discolouration in places and the obvious writing to the upper left corner. There is a small split (pictured) to the top edge of the sleeve. The spine is fully readable with some creasing.
Overall, probably a half decent collection filler at a good price until another one comes along.

As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record.
