THE BEATLES 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
33 RPM 12-inch LP - United Artists UAL 3366 - Mono - Original First Canadian Pressing

Side 2: UAL 3366B-1H
The soundtrack to the Beatles' first major motion picture was released by United Artists on or about June 26 1964 in Canada and the United States.
Canadian copies have the four dots (all silver) and the silver "United Artists" logo underneath.
There is no "High Fidelity" print and the labels were either red or blue or black whereas stereo copies were strictly black.
All original Canadian copies were pressed by Compo in Lachine, Québec.
The catalogue number for the LP was UAL 3366 for mono copies and UAS 6366 for stereo copies.
This auction features the very first Canada pressing with blacks labels with the 4 silver circles on top of the label.
These first pressings credit only "This Boy" to Maclen Music Inc.(BMI) as later covers also credit "I Cry Instead".
Grading:
The cover is in VG++ condition with light rub/storage wear to corners.
The original shrink is in VG+ condition with a small tear on the bottom cover and to one corner.
There is a sticker on the front which reads '4.20' which must be the price as it appears again on the rear of the shrink in pen along with '3/66' which is most likely the date this record was purchased.
The vinyl record is visually in NM condition with lots of sheen and no scratches.
The LP play-grades at VG+ with several 'tics' and sounds great.
Both labels are in excellent condition.

Record Grading
Mint (M): New condition.
Near Mint (NM): Nearly perfect, a record with no obvious signs of wear, a perfect sleeve with no more than the most minor defects and signs of slight handling.
Very Good Plus (VG+): A very good plus record will show signs that it was played, but was taken good care of by the previous owner. Record surface may show slight signs of wear or minor scuffs that do not affect play. Picture sleeves may have slight wear, lightly turned up corners.
Very Good (VG): A very good record will show groove wear and may have a few vinyl imperfections which will affect the sound. Picture sleeves will show slightly more wear with perhaps a frayed top edge, ring wear or seam breakdown.
Good (G) / Good Plus (G+): A good record will show significant wear and /or scratches, but will play through without skipping. It will have considerable surface noise. Picture sleeves may have seam splits @ bottom & spines, tape, writing, ring wear, stickers and other defects that will start to overwhelm the item. A good or good plus item is usually acquired to fill a hole in a collection until a better copy comes along.
