THE BEATLES - A HARD DAY'S NIGHT ( *RARE*  MONO 1st PRESSING) SUPERB EX+/ EX CONDITION

THIS FIRST PRESSING HAS THE MID-SIZED "MONO" ON THE FRONT COVER, AN E.J.DAY SLEEVE AND "THE PARLOPHONE CO.LTD", "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" & "SOLD IN U.K. .... LABEL TEXT )

THE VINYL IS IN EXCELLENT+ CONDITION; THERE ARE A FEW HAIRLINE  SURFACE MARKS ON THE RECORD BUT THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE SOUND WHICH IS SUPERB THROUGHOUT. THE VINYL HAS A  BRIGHT SHEEN AND THE LABELS ARE IN EXCELLENT+ CONDITION.

THE SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION;THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN VERY CAREFULLY STORED AND CONSEQUENTLY THE COVER IS IN GREAT CONDITION  WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE SPINE OR EDGES, THERE IS SOME MINOR CREASING TO THE CORNER OF THE FLIPBACK TAB ON THE TOP RIGHT OF THE BACK COVER AND THERE ARE A FEW VERY LIGHT BROWN SPOTS ON THE TOP LEFT OF THE BACK COVER (SEE PHOTO).

THIS ALBUM WAS RELEASED IN 1964 ON PARLOPHONE RECORDS CAT.NO. PMC 1230.

THE MATRIX NUMBERS ARE XEX 481-3N / XEX 482-3N.

 A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THIS EARLY BEATLES ALBUM - HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION.

 

Grading

I grade all my records using the Record Collector's Grading System which is as follows:

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent - The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits discoloration etc.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/ or defaced.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Items are sent out in high quality, professional record packaging, with stiffeners for protection.
