ORIGINAL UK PARLOPHONE (PMC 1230) FIRST *MONO* PRESSING (July 1964) OF THE BEATLES CLASSIC "A Hard Day's Night" WHICH PLAYS BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT (ON MY SYSTEM - AT A LOUD VOLUME) WITH A BRIGHT, CLEAN, CRISP AND FRESH SOUND - WITH HARDLY ANYTHING TO FAULT (see detailed audio assessment below)
PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH THE FIRST YELLOW/BLACK PARLOPHONE LABELS WHICH HAVE "The Parlophone Co. Ltd." RIM TEXT, "SOLD IN UK..." AND "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" STATEMENTS
THIS COPY HAS THE MISPRINTED EMBOSSED 'MT' TAX CODE ON SIDE TWO (THE 'MT' WAS REPLACED BY 'KT' ON THE 1ST JULY 1963 SO IT SHOULD READ 'KT')
MATRIX NUMBERS: XEX 481 - 3N / XEX 481 - 3N
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 2/RGR and 2/GMG
AND THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL, THICK CARD, FRONT LAMINATED TRI-FLIPBACK SLEEVE “Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London” (the less common variant - most copies were issued in a Garrod & Lofthouse printed sleeve which is of a lighter stock and with smaller flipbacks)
AND IT'S COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL GREASE-PROOF PAPER LINED EMITEX INNER SLEEVE

LABELS: The labels are clean, fresh and unmarked with just a little wear on the spindle hole and moderate spindle traces - VERY GOOD+
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen with very little dulling. Under a bright light there are a few superficial hairlines and general handling scuffs but no scratches - none of these marks are of any audio consequence - VERY GOOD+
VINYL Audio: Crystal clear, clean, crisp, sharp and vibrant sound - incredibly fresh and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing) there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, very little surface noise (the run-ins and track divisions are pretty quiet) and no clicks or pops. Despite having received a moderate amount of play, the sound quality throughout is clean and clear with no discernible groove-wear or distortion and it sounds great. Critically graded EXCELLENT for audio
SLEEVE: The less common EJ DAY front laminated flipback cover (with larger flipback fold-overs and printed on heavier stock than the G&L cover) is in great condition with crisp, sharp edges and spine - which displays all text clear and bold. The laminated front has a deep gloss with very little rubbing, no ring wear and only minor creasing and the unlaminated back is remarkably clean - EXCELLENT
And the original EMITEX inner is clean, fresh and unmarked with just a small central split to the bottom edge (3 cms) - VERY GOOD+
