WOW!! For sale is a beautiful (most likely a true 3rd) STEREO UK pressing of The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night! This has the smaller font STEREO in the upper right hand corner on a Garrod & Lofthouse flipback Tab Sleeve. This is the third pressing most likely from 1966-67 due to the 2nd variant labels...two other label variants are known to exist after this one.

Third pressing, 1966 until 1969. Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. front laminated cover, with small “stereo” on front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. With or without KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: YEX 126-1; Side 2: YEX 127-1

SLEEVE: EX- to VG+

Beautiful small stereo font sleeve! Would easily grade EX were it not for a light stain on back (see pics). Wonderful laminate sheen, only a few light thumbnail laminate creases, very light wear, fully legible spine with only a tiny amount of laminate cracking...light stain on rear and wear mostly along the left. Otherwise, a beautiful sleeve with no major creases and sharp corners save for the tiniest of dings. SUPERB!

DISC: EX- (Conservative Visual Grading: Play check may be requested)

Beautiful disc!! Obviously not played very much and has been taken well care of. Still retains its original glossy sheen...NO major scratches or marks. Does have some very light, superficial wispy sleeve removal traces and hairlines visible under very bright light. Under normal lighting, looks pretty amazing. Again, any marks on the disc are VERY light, superficial and should not cause any audio problems. Again, Play check may be requested. BEAUTIFUL!!

LABELS: EX

Beautiful labels- evidence of play only, spindle traces most visible around Side 1... KT Tax Stamp embossed on Side 1 as well. Otherwise, no unwanted writing or any other marks!

Inner Sleeve: VG+

Original Emitex Inner has some creasing on one side, has browned with age but remains remarkably unpslit!

The disc will be put into a generic inner sleeve and placed behind the outer sleeve and protected by thick cardboard. $4 via USPS Media Mail or $8 via USPS PRIORITY MAIL within the USA.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
