Description
So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!! For instant sale is an overall excellent condition copy of a UK first pressing from 1969 of 'ABBEY ROAD' by THE BEATLES. It is on the APPLE label with the catalogue number PCS 7088. This first pressing is described by Discogs as the 'first label, revised cover' version and its identifying features are :
'Dark green labels with a whole apple on the A-side label and a half, sliced-open apple on B-side. The labels have the "(An E.M.I. Recording)" text on two lines and small "33 1/3" text moved to the left side. Publishing year printed with a small ℗ symbol. The B-side label does not have "Her Majesty" credits. The labels are quite dark, although the actual shade of green varies between copies. Comes in a full laminated cover without flaps on the back side. The front cover has the drain showing, the rear cover has the Apple logo aligned with the text, and 'Her Majesty' is not listed.
Another distinguish trait of this pressing is the alternate indenting style on the last two lines of Side B ("Northern Songs. NCB" is by itself on the last line)'
All of these can be seen in the photos.
The overall condition of both the sleeve and vinyl is excellent and the album would be a superb addition to any record collection. The sleeve is in overall excellent condition. However, there are a few creases in the lamination and a small amount of 'lamination lift' on the front top left-hand side which you can see in photo 2. Also a small amount of wear on the corners. No writing or other marks. The spine is sharp and clean. Please study all the photos to see the condition for yourself. The labels are in excellent condition but with quite a few 'spindle trails'. The record is also in excellent condition with just a few surface marks from the paper inner sleeve. It plays really well in high quality with only occasional surface noise/'crackle' mainly between tracks and the occasional 'pop'. Definitely no 'sticks' or 'jumps'. The album will be wrapped in bubblewrap before posting to ensure that it does not get damaged on its journey. I will dispatch it in a proper record mailer and will post within one working day of purchase by Second Class post so that it gets on its way to you as soon as possible.
