Description
Offered for sale is a 12" vinyl LP of 'Abbey Road', the last studio album recorded by The Beatles. The catalogue number is PCS 7088. This is the original pressing from 1969 - this is apparent as the track 'Her Majesty' is on the record but is missing from the sleeve and the label. The Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve is also misaligned.
The matrix numbers are YEX 749-2 and YEX-750-1.
The vinyl itself is in good condition for its age. It is still relatively glossy, and though there are some light surface marks and light scratches (please see the pictures for the worst of these), it plays through fine with no skips or jumps. The labels are generally clean - there are quite a few spindle marks and these are more apparent on the Side 1 label (green side of the apple), but there is no handwriting anywhere and no stickers.
The picture sleeve is also in pretty good condition given its age. There are light signs of ringwear and some small creases in the laminate near the opening edge (please see the pictures), but it is good overall.
The record comes with an inner sleeve that is plain on one side and has some information about playing stereo records on the other. I'm not certain if this is the original inner sleeve as some were released with a plain black inner, but it must be from that sort of time. This inner has been reinforced with sellotape and is in acceptable condition, but it has done its job of protecting the record itself.
Overall this is a nice example of this record in a good sleeve. It is not pristine by any means, but it is a nice, solid example of this rare early pressing.
