Description
As follows:
Apple PCS 7088.
The Beatles - Abbey Road.
Original UK Stereo Press, 1969.
Matrix Numbers:
XEX 749 A-3U. XEX 750-1.
I do not want to make any claims about rare matrix number combination; but on many websites, such as the Beatles-Collection, this -3U copy is given as a variant of the very first press (released on September 26, 1969).
'Mfd in the UK; and ;'EMI' text on the label.
No 'Her Majesty' credit on the sleeve or the Side 2 Label.
There are a few visible light scuffs to the vinyl surfaces, but it plays very well.
Condition Vinyl: VG+/VG+
Fully Play Tested.
Side One plays very well, with isolated crackle and a few scattered light ticks.
Side Two features two audible ticks through 'Here Comes the Sun', light crackle at start; and a slight hissing at end of 'Because'. Scattered crackle through the rest of the side.
Condition Sleeve: VG+
Fully laminated sleeve, has a few creases, and crumpled corner tips; but is in good shape for almost 50 Years. The spine (which is always very thin) is legible. The Sleeve features the Apple Logo mis-alligned to the Track Listing on the rear The Front of the sleeve also depicts the drain cover, which is minimised on later issues.
The LP is housed in a plain white sleeve, which may not be original.
