ABOUT THIS SERIES OF BEATLES LP'S
In the 1970's in Japan the Toshiba/EMI label started a LIMITED reissue series of all the Beatles lp's. Issued in LOW QUANTITES the series included all 18 British lp's (up to that point, Love Songs being the most recent), the 10 American lp's that were unique to the States (for example Yesterday & Today, Magical Mystery Tour, Hey Jude etc..), 3 unique Japanese releases (including Beatles NO. 5), 1 LP unique to the Dutch (Beatles Greatest) and 1 LP unique to Germany (The Beatles Beat). Acquiring this series has become very difficult over the years due to the relative scarcity of the LP's. This week I am auctioning off on Ebay 30 LP's from the series all complete SEALED and in MINT CONDITION.
ABOUT MY COLLECTION
I AM SELLING THESE ONLY OUT OF NECESSITY. THESE ARE SOMETHING YOU DON'T GIVE UP LIGHTLY BECAUSE THE JAPANESE PRESSINGS ARE THE VERY BEST! (SURE I NEVER PLAYED THEM BUT IF YOU ARE GOING TO OWN ONE SET OF BEATLES LP'S FOR LISTENING PLEASURE THESE WOULD BE THEM)
I did not buy them all at one place so some were sealed differently. They all came with a strip bearing the Japanese flag symbol that wraps around the opening. In those days imports generally did not come sealed in plastic like a regular American LP. However many of the ones I bought in this series I picked up at E J Korvettes (the Target of it's era & where I worked at the time). And they had their imports sealed in plastic as well as the customary seal mentioned previously.
I know we are all looking for a good deal (and sometimes a real steal) on ebay and I'm starting them all at a very fair price BUT do not be afraid to overbid because not only will you have trouble finding them SEALED MINT like this BUT the money is going to a very good cause.
OF COURSE SHIPPING IS COMBINED SO BUY THEM ALL AND SAVE BIG. ESPECIALLY SINCE I NEVER TRY TO MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING AND HANDLING !!!!
