WITH THE MIS-ALIGNED APPLE COVER AND NO “Her Majesty” CREDIT ON THE LABEL (it was quickly deemed unacceptable for any 'Lennon/McCartney' song to have no credit/copyright, even a track as short as this, and later presses have this song credited)

COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL 1969 PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE WITH UK PATENT NUMBER AND "MADE IN ENGLAND" TEXT PRINTED IN BLACK
The album was of course, named after the London road in St. John's Wood that houses the E.M.I. studios (although, at one time it was going to be titled, "Everest").
The cover photograph was taken on Friday 8th August 1969 by Iain Macmillan (on a pair of stepladders) at 10 o'clock in the morning.
For these quick snaps the police held up the traffic for 10 minutes as six pictures were taken (Paul wore his sandals in two of the shots).
Along with Sgt. Peppers, once again The Beatles managed to create a cover so iconic that it has been imitated many times.

Outstanding audio on this first pressing and my play-check at loud volume found practically nothing to fault - just a couple of clicks between 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' and 'Oh Darling' otherwise, flawless - exceptionally clean sound - great copy
SLEEVE: NEAR MINT
The original fully laminated G&L sleeve is clean, bright and fresh with no wear on the edges or the (very thin) spine - all text is clear, bold and unrubbed. The surfaces have a beautiful deep, glass-like glossy sheen and display just the impression of the record. Overall, an exceptional example of this 'mis-aligned' variant
