THE BEATLES ‘Abbey Road’ 1980 Remastered Reissue of 12" Vinyl LP (Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab / Capitol Records, Japan pressing, translucent vinyl, Cat. N° MFSL 1-023)
This was Mobile Fidelity's first Beatles release identifiable by the yellow banner with the words “Original Master Recording” running along the top of the obverse of the outer sleeve. That this was an early pressing is the inclusion of a card stock fold-out insert protecting the LP. On one side is printed an excursus of Mo-Fi's background and the making of their premium quality pressings entitled "An Audiophile's Dream Come True!" and heralded on the other side are the words "Superdiscs Supertapes Superstars Super Quality.”
As did most copies of this album, this disc comes with a warranty card and mail-in form.
When held up to the light, the vinyl reveals itself to be a translucent cola color (see accompanying photos) and it is housed in a rice paper inner sleeve that is in turn sheathed in a white card stock folder which in turn slides into an outer sleeve.
Vinyl looks to be in Very Good Plus or better condition. Sleeve, which shows a modicum of wear, warrants a condition grading of Very Good or better considering its age.
