Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl LP by The Beatles - Abbey Road. Issued in the UK by Apple in 1969, it has the catalogue number PCS 7088. A collectible edition with a misaligned Apple logo on the back cover, the final track “Her Majesty" is also missing from the rear cover content but not the B-side label.
Identifiers - The record has the following matrix marks -
Matrix / Runout - Side A - Stamped - YEX 749-4
Matrix / Runout - Side B - Stamped - YEX 750-3 - Etched HTM (indistinct)
Vinyl Condition - Very Good+ - The record is certainly very bright and clean - there are no worrying scratches, although close examination may reveal minor and light surface marks. Soundwise, it’s a dynamic, crisp and clear listen and so much better than some of the later versions and CD incarnations that I’ve heard. I’ve listened to both sides and can confirm that there is no jumping or sticking. Occasional light clicks are likely to be heard with minor background crackle/noise but nothing excessive or detracting. I’ve only given the record a cursory clean but the sound quality may well improve further with a little more dedicated attention.
Sleeve Condition - Very Good+ - Original laminated sleeve with the surface film firmly attached on both sides. Otherwise, light signs of wear but no damage of note. There are a few minor stress lines top and bottom, with a partial disc impression mark present. Inner is largely plain white and as issued, with minor edge creasing and a small split.
