THE BEATLES Abbey Road VINYL PCS7088 YEX 749-2/750-1 EX sleeve. Vinyl VG
Vinyl: This is first pressing, 1969. It has dark green labels, with Apple image on side 1 in green, and a sliced half apple in white on side 2.
This variation has ‘an EMI recording on 2 lines. A small 33 1/3 text to the left hand side. Large (P) publishing year. The label and sleeve does not have the ‘Her Majesty’ credit.
Sleeve: it’s the version with the drain and Paul’s cigarette on it. No”Her Majesty” on sleeve. Aligned Apple logo. Other text: An E.M.I. recording. Thanks to George Martin, Geoff Emerick and Phillip McDonald. Photographs by Iain Macmillan. Printed by Garrod & Lofthouse International Ltd.
I understand this copy to be a first press, housed in a slightly later sleeve. It was probably released just as the corrected sleeves were introduced.
Condition:
Vinyl: The vinyl is in excellent condition, full sheen, gloss, all except for one click on side 2 on the track ‘Golden Slumbers”. It looks to be caused by one hairline across that album side. It’s not a deep scratch that can be felt, but you can see it visually.
I don’t know if it could be fixed or not. Other than this, the album and sleeve are in really excellent condition.
Side 1 is excellent. It’s full gloss and there are no marks on at all that I can see. It plays well.
Sleeve: excellent condition. No tears, rips, marks, sellotape. Apart from very slight scuffing, again it’s nearly mint condition.
This album was bought new in the 60’s and since then has been kept in dry, clean, safe storage in my house. I’ve tried to be as a clear as I can with lots of photos.
