Description
- The Beatles: "AIUTO !", LP ITA 1968 STEREO -
- CARISCH black label: S,PMCQ 31507
- matrix: YEX 168/169 1 (6/12/65)
This is the very rare 1st EMI issue of the album, released in 1968, published in gatefold laminated sleeve with inside open for the record and GOLD STEREO STICKER (instead of SILVER STEREO STICKER used on CARISCH issue in 1965); the black CARISCH label has boxed "STEREO" and "BIEM" text.
"AIUTO !" STORY: first issue was released in 1965 and distributed on CARISCH black label in "MONO" and "STEREO" edition; original gatefold sleeves have the laminate outside and in third page, have a large black and white photo inside and in-open for the record. Original "STEREO" sleeves have a "ROUND SILVER STICKER" on front. In 1968 the EMI/Parlophone logo appears on the sleeves; first EMI issues use surplus of Carisch stereo label with original cat. code (S,PMCQ) but different "STEREO" logo; first EMI sleeves keep the CARISCH mono code and use a "GOLD STICKER" to indicate the stereo edition; the photo on second page is removed. In 1969 the EMI black label appears with the double code (S,PMCQ + 3c 062); sleeves don't change but the sticker is removed. CARISCH code was definitively erased in 1970.
CONDITIONS:
COVER: (Ex++) no sticker, no writing, no yellowing, the laminate is bright and complete with just a couple of small creases; light ring on second page.
SPINE: (n/m-) all text is perfect and unworm.
LABELS: (n/m) clean.
VINYL: (visual) (n/m-) bright and clean; few tiny paper scuffs visible under direct light; (audio) (n/m-) no jumps, no repeats, no background noise, no clicks, no scratches; great STEREO sound.
