THE BEATLES Anthology 1-2-3 (3-LP Vinyl Sets 9-LPs) 1995 UK/1996 US 1 & 3 SEALED.
This vinyl set includes three anthologies of The Beatles, with a total of nine LP's. LP sets 1 & 3 are still sealed. LP set 2 is open with all contents in near mint condition (looks unplayed). The records are 33 RPM and in a 12" format, released by EMI/CAPITOL/APPLE in 1995 in the UK and 1996 in the US.
Anthology Volume 1 includes over 50 rare nuggets from the Fab Four's earliest (1958-1964) days, included the fabled Decca audition tape that the label, to it's eternal dismay, rejected, plus early Quarrymen recordings (That'll Be the Day), a version of Love Me Do with Pete Best on drums, a demo of Can't Buy Me Love, You Know What to Do (the second song George ever wrote) and many more essential, oft-bootlegged-but-never-sounding-so-good Beatles rarities.
The Anthology Volume 2 includes what was arguably the Fab Four's most intensely creative period ('65-'67) when they single-handedly changed the course of popular music. Anthology 2 doesn't disappoint. Outtakes and demos show the building of songs like "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite," while the pure pop song writing of Rubber Soul and Help! is also documented, along with the sonic experimentation that characterized Revolver .
Anthology Volume 3 covers the period from May 1968 (with early demos recorded at George Harrison's home) through studio outtakes of the White Album, Let It Be and their final LP, Abbey Road. Also: previously-unreleased tracks including Paul's demo for Badfinger of "Come And Get It," John's experimental "What's the New Mary Jane" and George's early demo of "All Things Must Pass." Other highlights: an alternate version of "Helter Skelter" and an acoustic version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
