1964 1st Mono Pressing
1st Matrix -3N/ -4N
Sleeve:
Very Good Plus condition. Faultless lamination, still tight and uncreased, and the front and rear photo has retained its original contrast. This 1st issue pinched spine is still clear white and unfrayed with clear title text. The gatefold pictorial inside of the Fab Four has no creases and is unmarked apart the number 9 written small in biro in the top left corner on the back of the sleeve, and the name Maureen neatly written in biro on the bottom fold-over (could be Ringo’s wife Maureen who knows!).
This is a very neat example.
Inner Sleeve: Original tracing paper lined inner sleeve correctly omitting the ‘Patents Apllied For’ text. Completely intact. Excellent condition.
The Vinyl: It is in at least Excellent Minus, with a fair amount of ultra-light wispy hairlines revealed angled under bright light only, and are superficial to the surfaces and look mainly like sleeve removal marks i.e. nothing obtrusive to the audio and certainly nothing that can be considered anything remotely near like a scratch, or a hairline that stands out. There are no imperfections which detract from its jet black glossy pressing shine which has been retained. The surfaces are clean and free of groove wear, and there are no warps, scuffs or scratches.
The Labels: Excellent condition. There is hardly any spindle wear evident, and a fair amount of tiny spindle line traces on each side.
The Audio: The audio is pretty much faultless with just the occasional light tick evident but only in one or two of the quieter run-in’s and fade-out’s - barely noticeable and nothing on the vinyl surfaces to create any discernible loss in audio quality. No crackle, pops, skips, jumps or sticks or unwanted noise. Plays smoothly and clearly all the way through on both sides with lucid detail and warm mono bass. Superb sound reproduction, and will be impossible to beat.
The vinyl is heavy set in weight and has the following mother and stampers:

Side 2: 28 GHM
