Description

Records are visually graded, but I do listen to intros for crackle and clarity, and play through any marks. Please read the entire listing to avoid any misunderstanding.

THE BEATLES – BEATLES FOR SALE – 1st PRESSING STEREO – VG

A decent playable copy of the 1st stereo pressing of “Beatles For Sale”. VG grade with quite a lot of sleeve lines and other light surface marks, but nothing deep that you can feel or will affect play. Still sounds great!

Matrices: YEX 142-1 and YEX 143-1

Label side 1 has K/T tax code embossed either side of the spindle hole. There is a small scuff on side 1 label, by the £ sign.
Labels have “The Parlophone Company” perimeter text. “Recording first published 1964” and “Sold in the UK etc” text.
Kansas City is credited to Lieber - Stoller, with no mention of the medley and dual credits that appear on later versions.
STEREO on the labels is slightly to the right, with the O above the E of Parlophone.

There is light crackle during the run-ins and in gaps between tracks, but fine when it plays. I played the whole thing; sound quality is very good and it plays through with no sticks or jumps. Light crackle in run-ins and gaps, No repetitive noises, the occasional background pop, but never too loud. An enjoyable listen.

Gatefold sleeve also VG. It’s a bit rubbed and has minor small patches of laminate lift, but still all in one piece with no tears or splits and on the whole pretty good for 58 years old.

Still has the original tracing paper lined “Emitex” inner sleeve.

Please look carefully at the photos as they are part of the description.
