THE BEATLES BOX From Liverpool UK 8 x LP 1980 FULLY PLAY TESTS STRONG NEAR MINT
The Beatles Box - "From Liverpool".
1980 England pressed World Records/Parlophone Records stereo 8 x LP box set, SM 701/8.
Each LP is housed within a unique laminated single sleeve.
Note that this set contains no inserts.
Vinyl visually a strong EX. Glossy throughout with maybe a total of five visible but inconsequential hairline surface scuffs. These are all sort bar just one which is slightly longer and more visible.
Playback has been tested throughout and is as close to mint as one could hope for. Notably the dead wax/run-ins/run-outs and separator bands are all silent. The sometimes troublesome quieter tracks all play cleanly. If one is to be picky there is just maybe a second or two of really barely audible low level crackle near the spot of the longer visible scuff but this is being really picky, the audio on this set is simply superb.
The labels are clean and unrubbed and it is hard to detect any spindle activity.
Inner sleeves are all present and overall EX plus except one has a longish seam split to bottom centre.
Individually laminated sleeves are all EX plus to near mint.
I suspect that this is a set which has been lightly played and stored within the box for much of its life.
The outer box is still structurally sound and has not been knocked around. There are no seam splits. There is no noticeable sunning (note that it is a feature of this set that the left hand of front appears lighter than the right hand). Front panel clean and unmarked. Some storage whitening scraping here and there to edges including two or three very minor patches of whitening scraping to bottom left of rear panel. At the top panel there is some minor edge lifting of surface material, and a tiny piece at top right of rear panel has lifted slightly with a corresponding tiny dog ear crease. By and large the box is still very clean and presentable however.
