The BEATLES. Boot LP. 12 Songs. Concert songs from the Hollywood Bowl 8-23-64. 12 live tracks from the typical summer concert of 1964. Same 12 songs every show. When this was released in early 70s it was the ONLY live Beatles show available. Capitol did not release the combo 1964-65 Show till 1977. The Beatles wanted to do live recordings but the screaming and hysterics were incredible. It ruined most recordings. They supposedly recorded their Carnegie Hall concert earlier in 1964 but producers found it to be unlistenable. Try the Washington DC concert film or CD to hear the crazy early US crowd!! By late summer they almost had the procedures down pat. 12 songs including 4 Number One songs in their short 6 month US career!! Here they were actually doing a Back to Basics LP. Raw single take songs that showcase their talent as writers and singers and performers, and meanwhile they also rehashed their oldies repertoire, constantly running through songs they used to perform in their early days. Sounds like the rooftop concert of 1969 doesn’t it?? Highlights are: TWIST AND SHOUT (If you notice, this is the version used as the introductory live track opening side 4 of THE BEATLES’ STORY (December ‘64). It is the most awesome group introduction and song beginning ever recorded!!! In my small opinion! Really, any of the 12 songs make one reminisce about that long gone time. Condition is Goldmine EX vinyl, with VG+ labels and sleeve. The Sleeve and labels have corrections written in ink to show the correct song info. Sorry the ink has run a bit on the labels!! The cover was originally a stamped on title on a cardboard sleeve. I then glued and taped the song list to the sleeve. Then I corrected info I thought was incorrect (boots were frequently wrong). It looks okay by my standard, but you decide!! By now we all realize the value of any Beatles Recording. Preserve everything, don’t destroy anything, clean them up, sort them, compile them, release them in any semi-organized way anyone can think of and, presto, another great album or CD, legit or boot! Then mix them up and do it again!! Anyways, like true art, they’re great no matter which way you see/hear them! Especially the full size covers!!
