Offered is a 100% authentic copy of The Beatles Christmas Album from 1970 manufactured by The Official Beatles Fan Club of America. This is a good starter copy for a collector who doesn’t have a copy in their collection but who doesn’t want to spend a fortune!
There are several ways to identify an authentic copy of this heavily bootlegged album. The album cover itself was constructed using slicks and the back cover always shows the front slick was overlapped to the back cover and then a smaller slick was applied to the back cover. Most bootlegs aren’t made using slicks. On the front cover in the lower left corner, in the picture just to the right of the corner picture, shows The Beatles and you can always read ‘THEATRE ROYA’ above John.
On the vinyl itself there are numerous items that need to be present in order for it to be an authentic record: first, the indented collar ring on both sides of the record measures 1.5” in diameter; fakes are usually much larger. In the deadwax, you need to see the ‘Bellsound’ logo stamped along with the ‘sf’ logo stamped along with the Winchester Factory Logo symbol ‘----<’ which looks somewhat like a rifle. The record id numbers which are stamped on Side 1 are: “SBC-1-100A” immediately followed by 3 dots with a slash mark above and Side 2 has “SBC-2-100B” immediately followed by 3 dots with a slash mark above.
Overall this vinyl copy is in Very Good condition. The vinyl grades VG. The jacket has seam splits on the bottom seam with water staining with surface tears on both the front and back cover. The jacket grades VG-. This is a good starter copy but it’s 100% authentic!!! Good Luck!!
