Description

Since the ripe old age of 11, I have been a Beatles fan. Little did I know when I purchased my copy of “Introducing the Beatles “(to accompany my copy of “Meet the Beatles”) at W.T. Grant, I was embarking on a lifelong obsession of collecting Beatles recordings. The collection of albums, singles and CDs numbers in the thousands and occupies a lot of space in our smoke-free home. Needless to say, it represents a sizeable chunk of my life! Now as I face growing older and the prospect of moving into smaller quarters, I find that I must find a suitable home for the many items in my precious collection. Just in time for Holiday giving, I am offering the incredibly sounding set: The Beatles Collection from Mobile Fidelity. I purchased this set in 1982 and (if I may say so myself) I’ve kept it in immaculate condition. The records themselves have only been played five times. In case you aren’t familiar: These recordings, pressed on Japanese vinyl (SUPER quiet!) were made from the original master tapes. Mobile Fidelity’s specialty in the beginning was records that were mastered at half speed. The result is a recording that reveals every nuance that The Beatles intended to be heard. The titles are the original 13 British Releases: PLEASE PLEASE ME WITH THE BEATLES A HARD DAY’S NIGHT BEATLES FOR SALE HELP! RUBBER SOUL REVOLVER SGT. PEPPER MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR* YELLOW SUBMARINE THE WHITE ALBUM ABBEY ROAD LET IT BE *Magical Mystery Tour (not an original Beatles release in LP form) was mastered from Capitol’s tapes. The resulting record (although in enhanced mono) still sounds GREAT! Each disc is housed in a static free inner sleeve. The master tape for each album is pictured on the outside of each jacket. The recordings reside in a special presentation black box, trimmed in gold. Included in the set is a numbered booklet detailing a certificate of authenticity #4267 along with colorful depictions of each of the album jackets in the collection (many with historic liner notes written by Beatles Press Officer, Tony Barrow. Included in the case is a Geo-Disc phono cartridge alignment tool.
