Description
Listed here is number 15,964 of 25,000. Most of the 14 discs were played only once on a B&O Beogram RX turntable and cartridge to make cassette tape dubs; a few were played several times; a few were never played. MFSL licensed the original master tapes and played back those tapes at half speed in order to cut the master platter at half speed for increased sonic detail and accuracy; then the records were pressed on Mobile Fidelity (MoFi) virgin vinyl. Each side of each record cover has a photograph of the original master tape box and the checkout log of the tape for that side.
Exterior 13"x13"x6.5" black board box with gold gilt lettering to cover and brass clasp in extremely good condition; slight scuffing on edges; otherwise in very good condition. Interior all covers and sleeves unmarked and unscuffed. Original cover art and info both sides are full size in 12" by 12" commemorative booklet. Certificate of authenticity and warranty card with booklet.
Bonus "GEO-DISC" from MFSL for cartridge alignment included in this set in its own slot in the box.
Rarely does this box set surface in this condition. A great addition to your audiophile collection! For those who appreciate the natural beauty of analog sound compared to the digital kludging of the Sony-Philips CD standard.
