Of all versions of the internationally-marketed The Beatles Collection LP boxset, this first U.S. edition from 1978 is arguably the most collectible. Not only was it a limited numbered edition but twelve of the thirteen albums were fully sealed - effectively guaranteeing the 'mint' status of the vinyl.

The set offered in this auction, number 360 of 3300, is in an overall excellent condition but does require individual grading:
  • VINYL - all 12 Beatles studio albums in this set are sealed in their original wrapping - with 'import' stickers intact. The wrapping of Beatles For Sale has broken along the top seam (see gallery image) but the sleeve-opening seam is fully sealed. Rarities, the only LP not to have been provided sealed, shows sign of being played and has a few scuffs and minor surface blemishes - but nothing suggestive of 'damage'; it grades at VG+.
  • SLEEVES -  being in 'sealed' state, the laminated-sleeves of the 12 studio albums range from EX to NM. There are the smallest sign of ringwear evident on the backs of Please Please Me and With The Beatles. All spines and seams are fully intact. The Rarities sleeve was not originally supplied in a sealed state; the sleeve is made of paper - not card; the sleeve is creased at one corner but it is neither split or ripped; it reasonably grades at VG+
  • BOX - the box is a two-piece package, glued together in three places. Over the years, the glue has hardened and has then split - leaving hardened residue on both pieces of the box (see gallery pictures); it needs to be emphasised that no 'collateral box-damage' from this glue-splitting is evident on either box piece; the two pieces can simply be glued together again - just as they were originally. There is some bubbling of the textured blue 'skin' of the box; from images provided on other auctions of this boxset that I've seen, bubbling appears to be a widespread issue and has occured on this set despite storage, in the original outer packaging, in a cool and dry location. The seams of the lid-flaps are intact and unworn. There is slight discolouration to the white interior in a few places but the interior is nevertheless excellent. I have endeavoured to be as honest as possible in describing the box and have provided pictures which will allow the reader to gauge the 'grade' of the box for themselves. Additional pictures of specific parts of the box can be sent on request.
In summary, the 1978 limited-edition BC-13 Beatles Collection boxset is one of the most sought-after among the numerous international editions - and certainly of the Brit-configuration versions issued in North America. This, relatively, low-numbered offering adds to its desirability. I am happy to provide additional information and pictures.

Ebay allows me to add a 'Buy It Now' price to this auction at any time prior to the first bid being lodged (at which point the option is removed); so I am open to sensible offers and, if acceptable, I can add a 'Buy It Now' option for the agreed price - but I have to stress that this is only allowed by Ebay until the first 'bid' is lodged.

SHIPPING
I only charge the 'actual' cost of shipping (i.e. what it costs me for the packing materials and postage). If the amount for shipping is greater than the amount paid at ckeckout, I will refund the excess. Shipping to ALL destinations will be via a 'tracked' AusPost service - for the peace of mind of both buyer and seller.

INTERNATIONAL (outside Australia) SHIPPING
The 'international shipping' calculator used by Ebay is rubbish and does not appear to bear any resemblance whatsoever to the actual cost of shipping. Please contact me for the cost of shipping to your country via 'tracked' service.
