Description

The Beatles Collection ("Blue Box") Australian issue
This is the Australian release of the Beatles Collection - the original "Blue Box" from the late '70s. I bought this box set in the late 1980s, but these were not playing copies for me. Now it's time to pass it on to a new owner who can keep it for the next thirty years!
Included in the box are the following thirteen titles, i.e. all the original UK albums (14 discs in all):
Please Please Me With the Beatles A Hard Day's Night Beatles For Sale Help! Rubber Soul Revolver Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band The Beatles ("The White Album") [2 LPs] Yellow Submarine Abbey Road Let It Be Rarities
The "Rarities" disc was originally available only in this boxed collection, and includes single B-sides and other tracks not available on the albums. The covers of With the Beatles and Beatles For Sale are specific to the Australian releases and differ from their UK counterparts.
Please note that the insert, poster and photos that usually come with the Sgt Pepper and White Album are not included.
Condition:
The vinyl is in near mint condition and looks to be unplayed. I see very little if any sign of spindle wear on any of the labels, which are likewise in near mint condition.
The sleeves are overall in condition varying from NM- to EX-. Generally all sleeves are totally intact with barely the slightest flaw visible, the majority would be NM/NM-. A few of the sleeves show their age in the form of yellowish brown spots which are due simply to longevity - this affects the white areas of sleeves such as the White Album and areas of Please Please Me in particular (see pictures). Also a few of the sleeves have slight splitting or wear evident (~1-2cm) at the top of the sleeve - this is quite minor, see picture above (Yellow Submarine) for an example. The spines are all intact and undamaged.
The box shows a bit of wear and would be rated around EX-/VG+. Overall it is solid and totally intact, no splitting at any of the corners, or any major issues. Mostly the wear consists of numerous small nicks and dings where the plain box shows through the blue surface. This is wear from storage and from being moved over the years, and is very common and typical for this box. See pictures above.
If you have any questions at all concerning condition - or anything else for that matter - please drop me a line.
Postage:
The box will be packaged with care and sent in an Australia Post 5kg satchel, with signature, tracking and insurance.
