Description
Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - Beatles For Sale' 1964 UK MONO vinyl LP!
This particular pressing is the FIRST UK mono pressing of this great record. It was also the first time The Beatles used a gatefold sleeve. It features the first matrices ever used on Beatles For Sale - 3n 3n. Also, it comes with a fantastic example of an original EMITEX inner sleeve! DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
Artist: The Beatles
Title: Beatles For Sale
Catalogue Number: PMC 1240
Year: 1964
Number of Tracks: 14
Matrix Numbers: 3n 3n
Mother Stampers: 3AP 2PO
Condition:
Vinyl (visual): Side 1 - there are a few hairline marks and light scratches but nothing feelable! Still retains a nice gloss and shine. Very impressive! Rated as VERY GOOD+. Label is VERY GOOD+. Side 2 - same as Side 1!
Audio: I HAVE PLAY TESTED THE FIRST TRACK ON EITHER SIDE ONLY!!! There is some very light crackle on the run-in. It's present in the background but it's nowhere near intrusive. Rated as VERY GOOD+! The clarity is great with lots of crisp highs and a fantastic warm punchy low end! Great mono sound with no skips, no jumps and no sticks on the two tracks I tested!
Inner Sleeve: The original EMITEX inner sleeve is currently in VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+ condition! It has one extremely tiny split on the bottom edge - literally 1.5cm if that! There is some discolouration elsewhere but only slightly! Houses the record extremely well!
Sleeve: The original 1964 flipback MONO sleeve is currently rated as VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+! The front of the sleeve has minimal wear with a great gloss and shine! A few small laminate creases but only small and towards the edges! It is slightly 'curved' - please see the image of the spine anad looks at the fornt cover! Can be fixed and flattened out but I won't attempt this.a NO WRITING OR GRAFFITI! The inner gatefold is clean with some light marks here and there but nothing too serious! The flipbacks are held down tightly with some slight discolouration. The spine is nice and white and 100% readable! Slight wear to either end but nothing too serious! A nice example that houses the record perfectly well but is probably best left out of the sleeve due to the thinness of the card used. No issues!
DO NOT MISS OUT!!!
PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!
As with all the vintage records I sell, I advise a deep clean to enhance the sound quality of the record. Overall, a great FIRST PRESS MONO Beatles record that everyone should own!
