After 35 years of collecting I am now beginning that process of downsizing my music collection. I will be selling off my 4,000 record albums, 2,000 compact discs (w/many box sets, hundreds of 45 rpm’s (including Beatles and others, picture sleeves), cassettes and concert posters. In this particular auction I will be selling off many PICTURE SLEEVE 45’S many of which are IMPORTS and some US. A vast majority are from a Rotterdam radio station and have sticker oon the cover for their categorization system.

Synopsis:  

Once again the Beatles give up TWO Billboard chart hits on one forty-five which seems the case for everyone that they released. I can’t see any artists doing that in the future.

Of all the songs to be recorded by the Beatles during their psychedelic apogee in 1967, "Hello Goodbye" might simultaneously be the most innocuous and the most commercial. It was a huge number one hit at the end of 1967 -- bigger, indeed, than "Penny Lane" or "All You Need Is Love," although time tends to forget this since those other songs have gained greater critical attention. The chief, and considerable, appeal of "Hello Goodbye" is primary composer Paul McCartney's beguiling melody, twisting and turning inventively through both its cheerful verse and the more haunting chorus, but always extremely memorable and hummable. The track boasts an extremely attractive combination of piano, viola, and occasional spidery lead guitar lines. The use of counterpoint vocal harmonies is, as was frequently the case on Beatles tracks, incredibly artful, both in the chorus and in the last pass through the verse, where voices answer McCartney's lead vocals with different but complementary melodic lines.

"I Am the Walrus" was one of the strangest and most avant-garde Beatles songs. For all its weirdness, however, it wasn't devoid of some conventional melodic pop appeal, and it was used on the B-side of "Hello Goodbye" (as well as on the Magical Mystery Tour album and film). "I Am the Walrus" is the densest and most symphonic track from the Beatles' psychedelic period, with so many layers of sounds and effects that it takes quite a few listenings to get to the bottom of them*

There is an International postage calculation tool in eBay that can be used. Although it does not allow for “first class international” postage therefore the shipping rates always appear to be inflated

GRADING GUIDLINES

I do not use any “modified” version of grading. I use true tried and tested Goldmine grading system. There is no need to confuse buyers therefore I use the grading scale that has been successful for thirty years. Unless otherwise stated, our products are VISUALLY graded with the aid of a bright 150W light bulb. I grade VERY conservatively, in order to ensure that buyers are happy. All flaws worth noting to potential buyers (scratches, MINOR warps, cut out holes, saw marks, split cover seams, writing, etc.) will be listed in the item descriptions in an attempt to avoid any, and all, surprises. Keep in mind, or be aware, that many import picture sleeve 45’s had jackets that were different than the U.S. releases as they look like a jacket but do not have three sides glued together.

M   (Mint); Unopened record or compact disc. I will never use this grading scale because if it is out of the jacket it is not really perfect

NM (Near Mint); Vinyl that appears, to the human eye under a bright light (never sunlight) to have never been played. There are NO visible blemishes on the vinyl/disc or jacket/case

VG+ (or EX); Except for a few minor things, this would be Near Mint. This will show slight light signs of wear including light signs of scuff or scratches that DO NOT affect the listening experience. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than ONE inch long)

VG:  More marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This type of material will not be sold by this seller. Groove wear and light scratches are evident. Surface noise is heard but it is not overwhelming. Minor writing, tape or stickers are visible.
