The Beatles in Italy
The Beatles in Italy is a Beatles compilation album released in Italy in 1965. Despite its title The Beatles in Italy is not a live album, it ’s a compilation of previously released studio recordings. The album was issued in Italy in the summer of 1965 to capitalise on the release of the film, Help!, and it contained studio versions of songs that The Beatles had previously performed in concert in Italy. As The Beatles in Italy contained no new material, it did not sell very well, and it was soon quietly deleted by Parlophone. The record probably would have remained obscure had not John Lennon, in a 1970 Rolling Stone interview, mistakenly referred to it as a live record. As The Beatles had not issued a live album, the Lennon interview set off a frenzy among Beatle collectors seeking to add the alleged “live” album to their collection. This is great playing copy of a very rare record.

The album is on Parlophone Records, PMCQ 31506. Matrix side one: XX.9009 1 13.7.65 (stamped). Matrix side two: XX.9010 1 13.7.65 (stamped).
Released in 1965. Italian pressing. Mono.
Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system. If I see a mark it will be mentioned however light/small, apart from the usual very light paper scuffs/marks - usually caused by record being removed from the inner sleeve, which appear on nearly all old records and which are only visible under strong light)
Vinyl side 1: very good (quite a few wispy marks and a one or two more noticeable ones that do not affect the audio in any way).
Vinyl side 2: good (quite a few wispy marks and a one or two more noticeable ones that do not affect the audio in any way. Also about 12 light clicks near the beginning of track one – hence the ‘good’ grading – which is hardly noticeable and does not detract from your enjoyment of the record).
Cover (laminated, gatefold, inner opening, flipback): very good (some corner and edge wear, general aging - see photos).
The record plays great with no jumps, skips or clicks (apart from the light ones mentioned above) and minimal crackle.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
