THE BEATLES ~ INTRODUCING THE BEATLES 1964 VEE-JAY RECORDS (LP 1062)/ LABEL BLACK w/WHITE BRACKETS [VJ] VEE-JAY RECORDS w/COLORBAND
MATRIX #s SIDE 1: 63-3402-1 URJ ARC 2-10-4 (etched) AudioMatrix (stamped)
SIDE 2: 63-3403 URJ ARC 2-11-4 H II (etched) AudioMatrix (stamped)
NOTES: All Tracks recorded February 11, 1963
This version has "Please Please Me" and "Ask Me Why" on the back cover with the bracketed Vee Jay logo and color band on the label.Record label has LONG PLAYING and MICROGROOVE in uppercase; Long Playing is two words. Has SIDE 1 and SIDE 2 designations.
Catalog number on label/back cover: VJLP 1062
Catalog number on front cover and spine: LP 1062
Runouts are etched, "AudioMatrix" stamped (sometimes [usually]) hard to read but its the only long stamp used that is larger than two or three letters)
CONDITION: Vinyl: (Strong) Very Good+ (faint paper scuff and a couple of very faint and short hairlines on side 1 / Side 2 is in beautiful shape) / Cover: Very Good+ (two staple holes from old 1964 price-tag on back above "VJLP 1062"/very light shelf-wear & edge-wear at bottom only/ no ring-wear or spine-wear and passes all tests for authenticity) NOTE: I've been selling these for over 40 years and I am more than familiar w/them but I went through checklist anyway! HOW TO TELL IF YOU OWN A COUNTERFEIT OR AN AUTHENTIC RELEASE:
Dead-sure Method:
☞ If title and artist are separated on the label by the spindle hole, it's a counterfeit.☞ If it is stereo and has ''Love Me Do'' on the back cover, it's most likely a counterfeit. (See additional "HONEY" test below.)
☞ If ''stereo'' appears only on the cover and not on the label, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the record claims to be in stereo, but plays mono, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the label is all black/silver and has a large brackets logo, it's a counterfeit.
☞ The runout etching on almost all genuine copies should contain at least one of the following stamps:
''Audio Matrix''
''MR'' in a circle
''ARP'' in italics

Easy Method By Cover:
☞ If George casts no shadow, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the background contains no gradient and the colors seem off, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the cover has a brown border, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the front cover does not wrap around completely underneath the back cover slick, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the back cover print is blurry in whatever way, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If printer marks (colored dots) are visible on the top of the back cover, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the ''H'' and/or "E" of ''Honey'' in "A TASTE OF HONEY" on the back cover shows a printing deficit, it's a counterfeit.

Easy Method By Label:
☞ If title and artist are separated on the label by the spindle hole, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the label has a flat textured rainbow/color-band design, it's a counterfeit.
☞ If the dead wax after the last track is wider than an inch, it's a counterfeit
☞ If the label is all black and on glossy paper, it's a counterfeit.
☞ Any significant loss of color in the rainbow on the label (especially green) indicates a counterfeit.
There are 37 variations of the genuine pressing (including both mono and stereo) known. There are a ton of counterfeits out here on Ebay as well as many originals so be careful to examine them.
