Description

The Beatles kicked of the British Invasion of the 1960s. The Beatles also became the biggest band in the world, outselling even their most popular peers! Now, almost SIXTY years later, their music is still loved by many different generations. They released their very first album in the UK in 1963, but by 1964, America began their love affair with The Beatles!

The very first album to be released here in America was on the tiny Chicago label Vee Jay Records. The label actually went out of business shortly thereafter, and the band was quickly signed by Capitol Records. After the group started to see success, many copies of that first Vee Jay release were pirated, meaning that they weren't original copies. Unscrupulous record manufacturers just pumped out pirated versions. This copy is an original, first press copy, from Vee Jay Records. The vinyl itself is showing signs of wear, with light scratches and surface marks. But for something like this, it's the cover that seems to matter the most, and this cover looks pretty good for something that will turn FIFTY SEVEN years old this year!! The back with song titles and credits is actually pasted on. Released on January 10, 1964.

Next up is the SECOND American release, that came out TEN days later, on January 20, 1964! And it was the band's first major label debut. Capitol Records always liked to say it was The Beatles' debut, but it was actually album number 2! Calling it 'Meet The Beatles", it was one that put the band on the map. This vinyl is also looking a bit rough, with light scratches and surfaces marks, but like the US debut, the cover is still intact, and not looking too bad! This is  the T 2047 version, and the only one of the three that doesn't have anything pasted on!

Album number three of the Beatles bundle "In the Beginning" is titled 'The Beatles Second Album', even though it's their third. I suppose Capitol Records conveniently forgot about the first release! Lol But this one has the artwork on the FRONT pasted on, and not the back. And like the other two, the vinyl has a few light surface marks, though much lighter and fewer than the others. And once again, this cover looks pretty good! The bottom is starting to look rough, but overall, not bad! Released on April 10, 1964. Seems like '64 was a busy years for the Fab Four!!

Last, I'll throw in a copy of the 7" single for the great classic "Yellow Submarine", on a special PICTURE DISC! Made in the Czech Republic, and released in 2015, this limited edition picture disc single is STILL SEALED, and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED!! A great Beatles collectible to add to this collection!
