The Beatles - Introducing The Beatles Vee Jay
Cover Condition: VG+ (some bumping to corners, flaking to top seam at upper left corner, name written in pen on back and front, light shelf wear) Record Condition: VG (shows some scuffs and marks on either side, plays loud and better than visual grade on my setup!)
Notes: Scarce 1964 original US Vee Jay Mono pressing of Introducing The Beatles. Version Two pressing with 'Ask Me Why' and 'Please, Please Me' and titles listed in two columns on back. Labels show Vee Jay 'Brackets' logo and colorband. What makes this specific version especially unique is that the Monarch (MR) stamp has been scratched out in the deadwax ONLY on Side 2 and the number (2) is added – I have not seen documentation of this exact version, and I've only come across the crossed out (MR) stamp–usually occurring on BOTH sides–being associated with a Waddell pressing; this copy doesn't seem to match a Waddell issue based on the label, typeface and thin pressing ring.
Matrix information: Side 1: ?6307 (MR) 63-3402 Side 2: ?6307X (MR scratched out) 63-3403 (2)
All photos are taken from the actual record on auction! Grading Scale: NM, NM-, EX, VG+, VG, VG-, G, Poor
