Description
!!Very Rare Let It be Box Set!!
This box set comes complete with all orignal packageing and contents all in ex. near mint condition. The box set contains: Outside cardborad sleeve, inside card flap sleeve, in side card book tray, mint Get Back Book, Glossy advertising poster for beatles Apple albums, Let it Be "red apple" Lp Sleeve, Org White inner Lp sleeve ("Made In Great Briton"), Vinyl Let it Be Lp with correct 1970 Matrix markings (YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U).
My dexcription of excellent near mint condition is in keeping with a record that is over 30 years old and the suffered from poor design:
The Record
The record shows signs of minimal play with small light scrating near the run off. The Apple lables are ex. with the darker green apple in keeping with the early apple pressings( The later pressings were evidently lighter).Printed on the right hand side of the lable over four lines is "STERO"- "PCS 7096" -"(yex.773)" (smaller type) - "P 1970." (smaller type). In the run off there are the matrix markings YEX 773-2U on side one and YEX 774-2U on side two.
The Record Sleeve (White)
The White sleeve is in ex condition with slight discoluration to the edges, inkeeping with its age. In addition it has a Patent No. in the left corner and Made in Great Briton on the right hand side. In addition as common with old vinyl the indenation of the record is evident when the sleeve is empty.
The Record Sleeve (Outer)
The outter has slight wear to the laminate and sum creasing on the top and open side corners. The back of the record contains all releveant typing regarding "This is a new phase BEATLES album..." with the Red apple at the bottom of the sleeve and An E.M.I. Recording, Printed and made in Great Briton by Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd.
The Book (The Beatles Get Back)
The Book is In Mint Condition with only slight laminate bubbling on the spine fold and minor spinal cover seperation to the inside bottom fornt of the cover to show that it has ever been read. There are no markings to the outside of the book, but two pages in and opposite the back of the second page (picture of lennon) a white page has printed on from top middle bottom "THE BEATLES GET BACK" - "Photographs by Ethan A Russell" - "Text by Jonathan Cott and David Dalton. The next page list the published date as 1969.
The Poster
A nice addtion to the set and found folder on the inside of the book is a (longer than A4) poster with title wording of "These fine albums are available now on APPLE. You should have them." Below these words are 13 album pictures with beatles albums such as The White Album, Abbey Road and the Yellow Submarine, along with lennon and yoko wedding album and albums from James Taylor, Billy Preston and The Modern Jazz Quartet.
The Packaging:
The outer sleeve as minor laminat bubbling around the corners, were minor scuffs are also present. The flap inner sleeve, designed to house the book tray has miner wear on the edges, but retaines its foldings and shape. The book tray, hasnt benifted from its design and as a result shows not only the slight wear of the others but has a slight tear in one corner of the book housing. The tear only runs along the front of the tray and hasnt weakened the complete housing.
All in all i feel this is a ex condition set and hope that a True Beatles collocetor finds the acution. I am aware how much these have fetched in the past and i rate myn along with some of the highest listed on popsike.com. I well endevour to answer any questions as soon as possible...happy bidding and appologies for the poor quality photos i only have my phone to use...
