THE BEATLES – LET IT BE - UK Box Set with Book - Export version.

This is the rare UK Let It Be box set. What may not be known by many is that the LIB box set was issued at least three times. Initially it was issued for the UK where the back cover of the LP displayed a Red Apple and the vinyl utilized the -2U/-2U matrices. It was issued for "export" with a slightly later LP pressing using -3U/-3U matrix endings (and possibly some -2U mixed with -3U). The back cover did not display any Apple. Instead it displayed a Parlophone logo in the same position as the Apple. Finally it was issued with an even later pressing LP where the back cover displayed a "phosphorescent" looking Green Apple and the vinyl utilized at least one -4U matrix. I tend to believe this 3rd issue as several collectors have sworn to me that that is how they purchased their copies this way in brand new condition.

The outer slip case is in VG+ to EXC condition. There are no tears along the sides! It does show some slight laminate lifting - not much. Also it does show what UK collectors and dealers call "foxing"... esp on the lower front bottom. These are light vertical creases. The top edge flap has a repaired rip about one inch in from the edge that you can see via the "white" line. Overall it is one of the much better slip cases still around. se covers were easily wrinkled and torn...esp at the insert edges. The LP cover is in VG+ to EXC condition. The LP labels are VG+ to EXC, the vinyl is VG+ to EXC. The vinyl does not display any scratches. The book is VG+ to EXC...no loose or missing pages. Some minor stains inside a few pages. Of the many variations in the printing of this book, this one comes with the printed credits - not any one of the pasted-in credits versions. This is one of the better quality books out there.

The inserts that hold the book in place as well as providing support for the slipcase are exact-cut, exact size and very close to same color as the originals - which due to poor construction - tend to fall part, especially after 40+ years especially if they hold the book. These inserts are not the ones currently being sold on eBay. These inserts were created for me by a master bookbinder who used a beat-up set of originals for reference. AS eBay allows only 12 photos for insertion, I could not fit in a photo of the insert. Send me a message requesting a photo, if you need to see it.
