THE BEATLES - Let it be

Original UK Box Set LP

Apple (PXS1)

Rare UK original first press box set in superb collectable condition. Comes complete with a first press LP with red apple sleeve and 2U/2U matrix, Get Back book and both original inner and outer trays.

This is the best condition Let it be box set we've offered for sale, no real need to upgrade this one.

The box is in a wonderful near mint condition. No tears, no crushing, no splits, no writing. The only wear i can make out is the slightest of shelf wear and one crease front left. They really don't come any better than this.

The sleeve is the first press sleeve with the red apple logo on the rear. It is in a solid excellent condition with no tears, no splits, no bends, no writing. It just has some light wear along the rear sleeve opening.

The outer tray is in excellent condition, far better than usual and is guaranteed as an original outer tray. The only negative is a small tear to the bottom edge and a couple of spots of paper loss on the sides.

The inner tray that hols the book is also in excellent condition with just light wear to the four edges where the book lies. This is seen on all copies.

The labels are in excellent condition with no writing, no tears and no stains. There are a fair amount of short spider spindle traces on both sides.

Matrix, Mothers and Stampers:

YEX 773-2U (no mother TP)

YEX 774-2U (2 GDA)

The Get Back book is in excellent condition. No pages missing, no loose pages, no tears, no writing. There is some light rubbing/mottling to rear and a spot of paper loss on the rear.

The vinyl on this copy is a nice vg++condition. It still has most of its original sheen. There are no scratches. When angled under two 50 watt halogen spotlights i can just make out the very lightest of lines and paper scuffs/removal marks.

All things considered this is a very nice example of this rare box set.

Please note that we grade all records the same way, whether they're 40 years old or one year old.

Our grading is strict so as not to disappoint, we have been selling on ebay since 1998 and know how important this is. Grading of records is done with the record angled under two 50 watt halogen spot lights. Scans are of actual item up for auction. All records are packed securely and most importantly packed outside of the picture sleeve (in a plain inner sleeve) so as to avoid seam splits during shipping.

Near Mint
Almost mint. Very minor paper scuffs and very little else can appear on the vinyl. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve but obviously it had been handled with extreme care. Any flaw should be very hard to see. The cover should look as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and/or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork should be as close to perfect as can be.

Excellent
An excellent condition for vinyl will allow minor scuffs (Scuffs lay on top of the grooves) which are visible but only slightly. The wear should be minimal. The play should be close to perfect as well. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear. Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show a little white, meaning slight wear. No seam splits or writing on the cover or taped repairs.

VG++
As Excellent but with a larger number of scuffs, maybe a few hairlines (very light scratch that can't be felt) or a couple of marks on both sides. Sound quality should still be very close to that of an Excellent record with only minor crackle in quiet segments only, NO scratches that can be felt. Cover as Excellent but there may be a small seam split on the cover, or a very minimal amount of writing like a name written in small writing or a number. A VG++ record should be an acceptable record to live with if you aren't looking to pay the price of a Near Mint copy.
