THE BEATLES – Love Me Do ORIG Parlophone Single / 45-R 4949 (UK, Mono, 1962)
Happy to present an above average copy of the Fabs very 1st UK single on original red Parlophone label from 1962. This disc shows the following:
- ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ text to the right of the label
- The Parlophone Co. Ltd text in lower case
- ‘Recording first published 1962’ to the lower left of the label
- Ardmore & Beechwood publishing credit
- ‘K T’ tax code embossed to the centre of the A label
- (Machine stamped) Matrices 7XCE 17144-1N / 7XCE 17145-1N
- Mothers/Stampers: 1 RD (Side A) / 1GP (Side B) – there is an upside down M under these letters.
- Also stamped on Side A at 9 o’clock: M (above) P (below) ZT (bottom). And on Side B: P (above) ZT (below).
The vinyl is visually in TRUE VG (Very Good) condition. That means NO heavy markings. There are many soft, thin and fine scuff-type marks with some hairlines too but the disc’s surface still maintains good shine. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays near perfectly with silent run-ins, NO snap, crackle or pop, NO clicks or loud ticks. Under the music there is a hint of surface but this is being picky. It plays without distortion and of course no sticks or jumps. EX audio!
The labels have survived well but bear the initials ‘AC’ to the A. There is no stickers or residue but moderate spindle trails around the centre hole on each side, mainly to Side B.
Supplied in a nice Type A sleeve without splits (believed to be its original) this is a GENUINE VG grade Beatles single. And it plays brilliantly! No reserve.
