(Parlophone 45-R 4949 UK 7" Single 1962)
This is a 1962 UK 7" Single 1st pressing in very good condition. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red & silver "Parlophone" labels. These have a 4 pronged centre. The labels have "The Parlophone Co..." and "Recording First..." texts. The labels have a company "WZOT" tax code embossed around the spindle hole on the B-side. Both tracks are credited as composed by "Lennon-McCartney". The record has 1st press matrix numbers (& mother stampers). The mother stampers are descending downwards in the dead wax. These matrices (& mother stampers) are:
A-side: 7XCE 17144-1N (P ZT)

The record comes with its original generic Parlophone paper sleeve.
This is a genuine UK 1st pressing from 1962. These are quite hard to find with red "Parlophone" labels. Parlophone changed their label design to the more familiar black & silver print label design. This was done in 1963.

Vinyl: There are two extremely light 3.5 cm hairline surface rub marks on the A-side. These hardly really notice under a strong light. There is a very mild 2 cm hairline surface rub mark on the B-side. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. There is a very mild 2.5 cm hairline surface rub mark on the B-side. There is an extremely small 0.6 cm hairline surface mark on the B-side too.
Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. The original paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on some areas. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, a strong Very Good condition. The A-side label is in Very Good condition. The B-side label is in Near Excellent condition. There is a small name, & pen dot mark, written neatly on the A-side (see photo). There is an extremely small & feint stain on the A-side label. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. Otherwise, the labels show mild spindle wear.
The original company Parlophone paper sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. It shows some light, mild or very mild ringwear & fading. There is some small & neat writing on one side of the paper sleeve. This is "The Beatles" and track titles. There are no seam splits.
I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle noticeable in some quieter places. There are a couple of very light clicks on the A-side. There are no noticeable clicks or pops on the B-side. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
I shall place this single in a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original Parlophone sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing,ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!
Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.

Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs. One parcel must not exceed 2kg (approximately 4-6 LPS).
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).
I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50.
