Description
Original U.S. Vee-Jay Records 45 featuring The Beatles – “Misery” / “Ask Me Why” (1964), issued during the historic pre-Capitol era when Vee-Jay held the U.S. rights. Pressed on the classic rainbow label, this is a must-have for any serious Beatles collector, representing the earliest wave of Beatlemania in the States.
This copy comes from the private collection of a legendary Detroit crate-digger and one-time DJ, and bears his lightly etched release year (“1964”) in the deadwax, a preservation technique he used consistently.
You’re not just buying a record — you’re acquiring “a piece of rock history from an epic collection of rare 45’s, filled with dj copies and promos of early northern soul, doo-woo, rockabilly, detroit garage and psyche rock.”
Label: Vee-Jay Records (Rainbow label)
Artist: The Beatles
Songs: Misery / A Taste of Honey / Ask Me Why / Anna
Songwriters: Lennon–McCartney, Marlowe–Scott, Alexander
