Description
A great opportunity to buy a RARE VINYL LP from the 1960s by The Beatles called "Meet The Beatles".
This is a Jamaica pressing released in 1964 on the Capitol label (T 2047) (mono) and has 12 tracks (see photos for track listings). It is believed there were ONLY 500 copies of this vinyl pressed in Jamaica and the cover was imported from USA.
The matrix numbers in the dead wax are:- T1-2047-T12 (side one) and T2-2047-P9 (side two).
The vinyl has clearly been played many times, but despite the many light surface marks, there are NO serious scratches which prevent it from playing correctly. Having played both sides in their entirety, it plays without any sticking or jumping, though there are odd clicks evident, mainly noticeable between the tracks. Overall I would grade it as only in GOOD condition, but it is still very listenable.
The label on side one has two tears on the rim (see photo), otherwise both sides are clean and free from any writing or stickers.
The record is flat and has no warps of any description.
In the absence of any Jamaican inner sleeves to hand, the record will be housed within a NEW poly-lined inner sleeve.
The USA-printed picture cover is only in a GOOD condition. The edges are worn and are about to split, which is common with USA covers. The back of the cover is a little grubby and has a name written in the top corner. There are small crosses written against 3 selected track titles.
Despite these shortcomings, this is still a highly collectable Beatles LP and should be of interest to avid collectors.
