THE BEATLES - NO. 3 ABBEY ROAD NW8
This is a vintage Beatles bootleg LP. NO. 3 ABBEY ROAD NW8 was released in 1979 on Audifon Records (AR 8-69) and I bought my copy through the mail back then. This was when we finally started getting professional looking bootleg Beatle records often with color covers and records that often were about as good as legit pressings. Some are still amazing artifacts and stand the test of time. Most any rare Beatles tracks have gone on to be reissued on bootleg CD's, legitimate projects (better source/cleaned-up/remixed-BEATLES ANTHOLOGY/LIVE AT THE BBC), or can be found online. But, this was where we first discovered many new rarities via mail order. NONE of these ever came shrinkwrapped as long as I was buying them---EVER! This was a new release when I ordered it through the mail. The real deal I am a 'detail' person (wish I wasn't as obsessive).
Took extra photos (in the house and outside) and scanned the front cover to make sure the bent corners were visible. Not real bad, but in some photos you could barely notice them. Tracks 8-15 Paul McCartney, Donovan and Mary Hopkin. Possibly recorded at Abbey Road circa 22 Nov 1968 (Winn), although the same source says Mary remembers it as having been recorded at Trident Studios. And Donovan remembers it as being at Paul's house in St. John's Wood or in one of the back rooms at Apple. We may never know.
