Description
THE BEATLES. SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND. EMI Records / Parlophone Ltd. Catalogue number PCS 7027 (Stereo). U.K. release version.
1. BLACK (KEY) VERSION :
This is an original transparent, clear, acetone sheet for the gatefold cover layout of the Sgt. Pepper vinyl album. I have photographed it displayed on white card to show the details. This sheet measures exactly 680 mm by 450 mm, or about 27 inches by 18 inches. This sheet is for the BLACK INK register part of the printing process ONLY. The word "BLACK" is printed below the main front cover image. The sheet shows all the lyrics and credits for the back of the album cover, and the main picture front cover. In the top left corner is a long box that states, "This album has been Direct Metal Mastered From a Digitally Re-mastered Original Tape to give the best possible sound quality". This particular detail means that this is the ninth, and last-released version, and dates it to 1995. The off-white tape has been added to the back by a technical editor prior to going to print because of an error. The error is that the Apple logo is missing from the space to the right of the "boxed" Parlophone and EMI logos in the bottom right corner, but, is included at the top edge of the sheet. Compare this transparent acetone sheet to the approved Kodak paper print test sheet elsewhere in my listings. This item is a monster rarity.
This sheet is in the original condition in which I obtained it, and have stored it untouched for years. It is part of the original artwork for the cover prior to release in 1995, and I have listed other important elements and pieces to this album. This item is an absolute monster rarity for any Beatle collector. An amazing piece of original and very rare Beatles memorabilia that would greatly enhance any private collection. You may not ever have the opportunity to own anything like this item again. It is completely unique. It is in excellent original condition throughout. This sheet will be rolled carefully in bubble wrap and shipped in sturdy large diameter tube with end caps. Insurance is recommended. Please see the photographs.
As a professional photographer by trade, I obtained this piece of Beatles memorabilia through professional contacts and colleagues at an industrial printing plant that was also used by EMI to manufacture their product packaging. It is absolutely 100% genuine. Thank you.
This item comes from my own personal collection of Beatles and related memorabilia. It has been carefully looked after and stored in the dark. It comes from a smoke-free environment and has been kept away from all contaminants. If you have any questions that relate to it, please ask. I have many rare Beatles and related items to auction on eBay and I'll be listing them constantly. Why not "save me" into your "favourites" section. Please check my 100% feedback rating and my other items up for auction. Thank you.
