THE BEATLES PLEASE PLEASE ME 1963 UK MONO LP PMC 1202
Original 1963 Parlophone Records UK LP The Beatles Please Please Me, fourteen track mono album housed in Ernest J Day flip back laminated sleeve. Front cover Angus McBean photo credit starting at end of last ‘s’ in ‘songs’. Matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N and XEX 422-1N, perimeter print starts ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ but there is no ‘Recording First Published 1963’ which I believe makes this a third pressing, the first of the yellow/silver on black releases. The sleeve is in very good condition (some light laminate creasing along mainly along the bottom edge and a little corner wear). The back of the sleeve has two small vintage pictures of Paul sellotaped on it, the spine is in excellent condition. Use Emitex ‘patents applied for’ inner bag is in very good condition with a little creasing. Labels are in excellent condition, just light spindle marking only. Vinyl is in very good condition, I can see light surface marking visible in sunlight and one more prominent hairline on side one but nothing more untoward than that. The album plays fine and would make a great addition to a Beatles collection (Parlophone PMC 1202).
