This record was released 60 years ago on Friday 22 March 1963. Its anniversary will be this coming Wednesday
and could well have been bought the same week but certainly very soon afterwards.

Original "EMITEX" inner sleeve.

"ZT" tax code embossed on centre label side 1.
"ZT" ran from April 10th 1962 until Nov 26th 1962
The next tax code "PT" ran until January 1st 1963 followed by "MT" until July 1st 1963
which was followed by "KT" which ran through until 1968.

So "ZT" is extremely rare as the correct tax code for the release date of 23rd March 1963 should be "MT"

This is an original first press from 1963.
This pressing can be identified by the following traits:-

1) The Labels are Black & Gold.
2). The first (later corrected) "Dick James Mus. Co" publishing credit for "I Saw Her Standing There,
"Misery" , "Do You Want To Know A Secret" & "There's A Place"
3) "Made By Ernest J Day" sleeve with printers credit on right hand side on rear of sleeve.
4) Large "mono" in top right hand corner.
5) "P" of Photo at bottom far right starting under the second "S" of songs in the album title
)

The disc will be separated from its inner sleeve and will be sent in NAGAOKA anti-static inner.
The sleeve will be placed in a plastic sleeve.

"I Saw Her Standing There" 10 out of 10 plays silently complete clarity. Plays through "AS NEW"

"Misery" 9 out of 10 because there is some very minor low level crackle at the very end of the track.

"Anna" 10 out of 10 Soundless. Plays "AS NEW"

"Chains" Again 10 out of 10 plays to perfection. "AS NEW"

"Boys" 10 out of 10. Crystal clear playback. Faultless. "AS NEW"

"Ask Me Why" 10 out of 10. "AS NEW"

"Please, Please Me" 10 out of 10. Perfect playback. Again plays "AS NEW"

Side 2 This where it all started. "Love Me Do" 10 out of 10. Soundless "AS NEW" Ringo on drums.

"P.S. I Love You" 10 out of 10. Faultless. "AS NEW"

"Baby It's You" 9 out of 10. This track and "Do You Want To Know A Secret" are where
the above mentioned scratches are and there is only minor low level
crackle at the end of the track.

"Do You Want to Know A Secret" 9 out of ten. The faintest, odd barely intrusive bit of crackle.

"A Taste of Honey" 10 out of 10 Beautiful clarity of sound "AS NEW"

"There's A Place" 10 out of 10. Superb playback on glorious "MONO" plays "AS NEW"

"Twist And Shout" 10 out of 10.This track was recorded as the last song of the session
as John's voice wouldn't hold after the screaming vocal. Plays "AS NEW"

As always I have played every track in full. I cannot emphasise enough just how strong and clear the audio is, the playback is stunning. Any crackle is low level and between tracks except where noted above.
As stated in my introduction the previous owner really knew how to look after his LPs.



The cover is in vg+ condition with no marks or writing on it. A small thumb crease on front. See photos.

As always I have played every track in full. I cannot emphasise enough just how strong and clear the audio is, the playback is stunning.

• NEAR MINT ~ visual inspection has revealed that the record plays noiselessly. If there are any surface marks these will be noted in the listing. 
• EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
• VERY GOOD ~ The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. despite noticeable surface and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable
