The Cover

The Cover (A BLACK AND GOLD COVER) is in Good condition as there is two surface tears (see Photos Below) but all laminate is still intact with no lifting only a couple of light small creases which are expected for the age. The Photo: Angus McBean is aligned with the S on the word songs which shows it is the correct cover for this pressing. The Back of the Cover is in Good condition with all flip backs still intact apart from the top one has been celotaped by previous owner and a small surface tear on the flip back just above the catalogue number but the rest of the cover is still pure white see photos for more details. The Spine is still intact and 100% readable.

The Centre Labels

The Centre Labels are in Excellent Condition showing some light spindle wear but no tears and no signs of fading or graffiti a lovely example. The Labels are the first pressing with the Dick James Credits.

The Vinyl

The Vinyl On Side 1 & 2 is in a Very Strong Very Good+ to near Excellent Condition has only some light visible hairlines when held under a electric light but nothing feelable, and plays through with minimal background noises even in the quite parts on my system

The Inner

The Original inner sleeve is in Excellent Condition it is the original emitex inner and still white and all intact with no graffiti.

Please Please Me is the debut album by The Beatles. Parlophone rush-released the album on 22 March 1963 in the United Kingdom to capitalise on the success of singles "Please Please Me"and "Love Me Do". Of the album's fourteen songs, eight were written by Lennon–McCartney (originally credited "McCartney–Lennon"). In order for the album to contain fourteen songs (the norm for British 12" vinyl pop albums at that time was to have seven songs on each side, while American albums usually had only five or six songs per side) ten more tracks were needed to add to the four sides of their first two singles recorded and released previously. Therefore, at 10:00 am on Monday, 11 February 1963, the Beatles and George Martin started recording what was essentially their live act in 1963, and finished 585 minutes later (9 hours and 45 minutes). In three sessions that day (each lasting approximately three hours) they produced an authentic representation of the band's Cavern Club-era sound, as there were very few overdubs and edits. Optimistically, only two sessions were originally booked by Martin—the evening session was added later. Martin initially contemplated recording the album live at the Cavern in front of the group's home audience and visited the Liverpool club on 9 December 1962 to consider the technicalities. But when time constraints intervened, he decided to book them at EMI Studios in Abbey Road instead and record them virtually live.
