THE BEATLES - "PLEASE PLEASE ME" - VINYL LP
PARLOPHONE - PMC 1202 - MONO - 1963 UK ORIGINAL
4th pressing (issued in late 1963) of their classic debut album. Black & yellow Parlophone labels with the 'Recording First Published 1963' and 'The Parlophone Co Ltd...' label text and no 'Sold In UK' text.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
1st issue laminated flipback Ernest J Day & Co Ltd sleeve with large mono logo in the corner and 'Photo: Angus McBean' credit in bottom right corner of front, starting underneath the letter 's' of 'songs'. This is the original sleeve design that was used for the 1st press black & gold issues.

CONDITION (vinyl/cover)
NEAR MINT (an amazing copy with full original gloss & shine, and hardly any sign of play; under strong angled light the surface shows very little of note, perhaps just some mild sleeve removal marks if closely inspected - there are no significant marks, scratches or wear; both labels are in very nice clean & bright condition and show just a couple of small spindle-lines on each; I play-tested the album in full and can confirm the the record plays beautifully throughout with near perfect audio. Overall this is a wonderful example of this 60-year-old record and extremely hard to find in this condition!)
/ NEAR MINT (the original laminated flipback sleeve is in fantastic shape with slight wear only; it has a solid, flat shape and the front laminate is bright, glossy and virtually uncreased; all edges are sharp and unworn and the spine is straight and fully readable; the rear shows just some very minor storage wear; there are no tears, splits, stains, writing or significant creasing - all in all a superb example - see photos)
