Description
Very rare 1964/5 South African press of The Beatles’ classic, timeless debut Please Please Me, pressed on the alternate, silver-on-black Parlophone label (PMCJ 1202) which is a harder-to-find label than the navy old-school Parlophone one. This label variant was introduced to SA LP's 1964-65, from Rubber Soul LP onwards, and is identical to the UK label used on first pressings from With The Beatles and thereafter.
This isn't the best copy around but still alive! The cover is in VG- condition with noticeable defects. Although the front is just okay, there are some few laminate creases ; noticeable burn mark at the top where it says ''ME * THE'' (BEATLES) Other than this, still pretty good, nice, solid spine. Some light ring-wear at the back, few faint smudges here and there ; some minor wear on the seams. Really not that bad, can still be appreciated.
The vinyl visually looks between VG- to VG condition. Still retains some shiny gloss under bright inspection with normal, light hairlines on both sides but not in an overwhelming amount. The centre labels are in near excellent shape!!
A good addition for 60’s & more so Beatles collectors worldwide, a great find on the new style Parlophone label!!!
