RARE 1963 4th PRESSING OMITTING THE ‘RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963’ TEXT
A rare original issue having early mother and stamper's 1 MM and 1 ML being pressed soon after production began.
The sleeve is an early version manufactured by E. J. Day - the contrast hue and is similar to Gold sleeves. It is in Very Good to Very Good Plus . The edges, corners and spine are still well laminated with just a few small nicks. The laminate on the front cover is still well glossed and tight, with a small amount of feint creases and ring-wear. The rear panel retains whiteness with jet black sleeve notes; there's just minor age discolouration. The fold-over's are still well-adhered and pretty neat with only minor lifting at the extremities and top fold. The opening side is neat, flat, and tight with no rippling. It is a strong, sturdy, robust card material, with no repairs, rips etc and defies its age.
The inner sleeve is the correct one for this pressing having 'Made In England' text and ‘Patents Pending’ with Emitex advertising info. It is in Very Good Plus condition with only very minor use wear.
The vinyl has a discreet warp in it such that there is noticeable undulations of the stylus arm. This has in no way affected the audio and still grades as easily Very Good Plus if not better, on first look it appears Excellent, it’s just the warp that marks it down and is purely cosmetic. The surface shine still gleams out all over and in every direction it projects its glossy black finish. There is evidence of play-use but it is clear that it has been listened to infrequently... There are a few feint hairlines here and there showing up under light, but do not stand-out or causing audio problems. There is no evidence of groove wear, scuffs, needle drops, scratches etc. An incredibly early copy in nice condition overall.
The labels grade as Excellent as the fonts has been well retained and the black paper is still glossy. There are no marks or writing or scuffing. There is a little wear around the spindle point and no noticeable spindle lines, and the Early MT tax code stands out quite bold.
The audio is astounding. It plays clearly and lucidly all of the way through with very very little audible detractions. I only detected a few static-type tics in a one or two of the intro's and fade-out's but certainly nothing overpowering. A few of the track change grooves have a few more noticeable tics, but I'm confident it won't cause disappointment. There is no background interference, certainly no pops, or skips, or sticks etc. I would grade as Excellent audio, and is great to hear such depth to the bass and punchy vocals.

The record will be extremely well protected using a professional LP mailer with a stiffener, and I add extra outer padding for overseas orders.
The vinyl will be removed from the original inner sleeve, placed in a new generic one and placed next to the main sleeve and will all be housed in a best on the market thumb-weld glass sleeve.
