BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME - early press vinyl LP with the first release sleeve:
Many eBay descriptions will tell you they have the first sleeve, as the Angus McBean credit is in the bottom right hand corner. The problem is it is ALWAYS in the bottom right hand corner. The difference is just how far right the credit is. If the name starts under and right of the the letter 's' it is a first press sleeve, if it starts just under the end of the 'g' it is later. The photographer wasn't happy with the first sleeve so asked his name to be shifted left a bit. See my photo for example.
The first sleeve was only used for the two ultra-rare black and gold labelled first presses and a small number of the new style yellow and black labelled records ie 3rd press. The sleeve was then changed with the Angus McBean name shifted (slightly) left.
This is therefore the 3rd press with ORIGINAL

MONO PRESSING
A few light marks to the vinyl and label, plays really well with only very occasional and light
crackle. No sticks, jumps.
Sleeve has some wear all round. Repair to flipbacks, yellowing, expected light laminate creasing, marks from old tape. Old name to one label. Check pics.
Lovely original Emitex inner.
Lots of great Rolling Stones, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Bowie first press vinyl in my other items.
