CONDITION (RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM - SEE FOOT OF LISTING)

SLEEVE: 

The front of the cover is overall in EXCELLENT condition with just some light laminate creasing to the spine side. However, it has corner wear and the 'n' of 'Angus McBean' has rubbed off. Some scuffing and wear to the bottom edge.

The rear is unfortunately not as good. Two previous owners' have written their names in blue and red ink (see photos) and there are some light marks. There is damage to the bottom 'flipback'.

Overall, if the writing on the rear is overlooked, it probably grades as just about VERY GOOD condition.

INNER: The original poly-lined inner is in EXCELLENT condition with just some very mild creasing.

SPINE: Overall, the spine is fine with all text clearly legible, but there is corner wear / bumping to the top and bottom.

LABELS: Probably VERY GOOD condition; the gold print is all clearly legible but there is spindle wear and age marks.

RECORD - SOUND: 

Nice mono sound with just the very lightest of surface noise BUT there is a small heat warp over the first part of track one on both sides (see photos below). I have played the record on both my new Rega P3-24 (brand new Ortofon Blue 2M cartridge/stylus attached) and my old Pioneer PL-518X turntables and the outcomes are very different!

On the Rega, both 'I Saw Her Standing There' and 'Love Me Do' jump and stick for the first few minutes, but on the Pioneer both play without problem. The only blemish is a thudding sound as the needle passes over the warp. Therefore, please bear in mind that I cannot guarantee play on these 2 tracks; take your own chances, it really depends on your turntable set up.

Tracks 2-6 on both sides then play at VERY GOOD (+), the sound is really good. However, there is some very mild distortion on both tracks 7 ('Please Please Me' & 'Twist & Shout').  

RECORD - VISUAL: This record definitely plays far better than it looks or than I expected. The vinyl has its fair share of hairline & light scratches + some scuffing and superficial surface marks and some more mild scratches. These do not appear to affect play too much at all though. There is also the heat warp as mentioned above. I can therefore only grade it as FAIR visually.

GRADING

All of my records have been play tested before listing using a new Rega P3-24 turntable. I describe honestly and accurately but please bear in mind that I am only human and such things are always subjective. I tend to grade records conservatively and believe that my feedback speaks for itself. I am a collector myself (please check my feedback as a buyer) and know how disappointing it is to receive an inaccurately described record.

POSTAGE / SHIPPING

I post worldwide and pack all records in custom made (stiff) card mailers and add extra packaging inside to ensure a safe delivery. I will provide a protective polythene sleeve and the record and inner will be removed from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits in transit. I want your record to get to you in the condition that it was when it left me.

For any records that come with printed inner sleeves, I will also provide an additional plain inner.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
