Description
This auction is for an original 1964 45 rpm record and rare picture sleeve release by The Beatles with the Top 40 (#3) recording of "Please Please Me" b/w "From Me To You" on Vee Jay Records #VJ-581. If you collect Beatles records, then you know that this record was released with several different label variations. This is the black label with perimeter color band. It has the oval Vee Jay logo with thick title print, and the "VJ" prefix in front of the record number. Vinyl has nice gloss with a few, minor light "paper" scuffs. Playback is excellent, nice sound and vocals, no background static. Labels look good, a touch of surface wear. The hard to find picture sleeve is ORIGINAL, not a replica or bootleg reprint. The sleeve is in nice shape, a light record impression with some light surface wear. There's some light edge wear (but no seam splits) and some light creasing across the top from handling. Please view photos for overall label and picture sleeve condition. Record gets an Excellent grade with a VG+ rating on the sleeve.
